Operating MAC Lion. I attempted the import twice and both times received an error message: Reading of vCard data has failed. Failed to parce vCard for unexpected reason (Expected String "BEGIN:VCARD" did not come (Instead , etc. After the first error I deleted the file on both the Fire and the MAC and started over. Any suggestions?

I've tried this ad a lot of other combinations on my Kindle Fire without success - I always get an error (password or user name wrong). The user name and password I am using is the same that I use to log on to iCloud. Any ideas?

I was able to remove a book from the carousel by deleting it at my online account. This has to be done in both the amazon.com/Your Media Library and one's Kindle Library list (a cumbersome process if one had to do it for many titles). Then you have to re-sync the device. Of course, this means I don't have access to the book anymore, but I'd read it and didn't plan on re-reading. It was the somewhat lurid cover that was a problem for me when letting family or co-workers try out the device. I also posted a suggestion to Amazon regarding this serious privacy and security issue. I hope more users complain! At the KIndle forum many people have indicated they returned their FIRES and bought NOOKS for this very reason. I like my FIRE and am keeping it, but hope Amazon will change this ASAP in a software upgrade.

What the...? I saw a link to this blog with the teaser "Apple could take a lesson from Amazon," and as an iPad user followed it in case there was useful insight. But this is merely photos, such as could be obtained easily with a simple search, used as home screen wallpaper. I've got dozens that are better. What most of us really need is more time to care about such things.

The command for installing GoogleServicesFramework.apk is being cut off due to the styling on the page. The command should be displaying

./adb -s emulator-5554 push GoogleServicesFramework.apk /system/app/.

Note: Even though it's not fully displayed, you can copy the entire line and you'll get the complete command.

Hi, Phyllis --

Passwords are usually entered by the user, but in this case it appears that for some reason it thinks there's already one there! I would suggest contacting Kindle Fire Support at 1-866-321-8851 -- they may be able to walk you through resetting the device to get rid of the password or (possibly) returning the Fire you have for one that doesn't already have a password enabled.

Good luck!
